FIVE WINS: Cowboys, Steelers, 49ers
THREE: Packers, Raiders, Redskins, Giants, Patriots
TWO: Colts, Dolphins, Broncos
ONE: Jets, Chiefs, Bears, Rams, Ravens, Buccaneers
Here are the teams that have never won a Super Bowl, separated by conference:
AFC: Bills, Bengals, Browns, Texans, Jaguars, Titans, Chargers. That’s seven teams, two of which are recent expansion teams (Texans and Jaguars).
NFC : Eagles, Lions, Vikings, Falcons, Panthers, Saints, Cardinals, Seahawks. That’s eight teams, only one of which is a recent expansion team (Panthers).
The NFL teams that have been to the Super Bowl but have never won: Vikings have been four times (most recent 1977), Bills four times in a row (lost all four…I remember feeling bad for them, since their last two games of that four game series were against Aikman’s Cowboys, and the Bills got shellacked both times). The Bengals and Eagles have both been twice without winning, and the other five teams only once (Titans, Chargers, Falcons, Panthers, and Seahawks).
Now, here are the real losers. Not only have the following teams never won a Super Bowl, they have never even made it to the big dance: AFC: Browns, Texans, Jaguars NFC: Lions, Saints, Cardinals. These six teams (four of which have been around for decades, and one–Cardinals–is the oldest professional football organization in the country) epitomize the frustration that Cubs fans feel every year. To get to the Super Bowl (let alone win), would be a plus for these poor fans.
>When you speak of feeling bad for the Bills, all I think of is what we always say that B.I.L.L.S stand for……Boy I Love Losing Superbowls 😀 But seriously, that takes a lot to get there four times, win or lose. And as a Cubs fan, I can sympathize with some of these fans, although I doubt some of them would compare themselves to us that way because they would say something like “we aren’t cursed, we’ll make it someday” LOL
