Why is McCain seen as the Heir to the throne, when he doesn’t have the nomination yet? Why is the national media trying to shove McCain down our collective throats? Every time I turn on the TV or look at a news website, I am told that McCain is the only Republican candidate. How can that be when McCain only has about half of the needed votes for the nomination. By my count, that means that McCain has around 25% of the available delegates. True, Huckabee has only 10% of the needed votes, but that means that 65% is still out there to be grabbed.
Question: who gets the delegates from Massachusetts (and the other Romney states) now?
>The media has made it VERY clear that Romney has not quit, but has “Suspended” his campaign. To me this means that should someone Romney does not like such as Huckabee get the nomination, he’ll come out of his “suspended” status and resume campaigning. That is just my opinion of course, but it’s how it appears to me.
>To answer your question, I think I read that they are still his for now until they either vote another way or he formally drops out. That’s what makes this so “suspended” campaign so sticky. Every one of his supporters is sitting there saying what a good guy he is to bow out and let McCain have the nomination, but he hasn’t done that. He’s just effectively tied up delegates making it difficult for the other two guys running to take it from McCain. If you were to ask me my opinion, I’d call this shady.
