If anyone wants to comment on something I write here, there are basically three ways to do it:
I. Leave a comment using notepad:
1. Open up some word processing program on your computer (notepad works great).
2. Type your reply or comment to my post.
3. Click on “0 Comments” (or whatever number) to go to the comment screen.
4. Cut and paste your comment from notepad (or whatever program you used) into the “Leave Your Comment” box.
This avoids the dreaded “lost post” where someone (it has happened to me as well on this and other websites) types a long, well-thought-out post (more than a paragraph), and the website does something crazy.
II. Leave a comment on the website using the clipboard: You can also type your message directly in the “Leave Your Comment” box, and stop every paragraph to hit CTRL-A, and then CTRL-C (to save your post in clipboard memory). If it kills your post, then all you have to do is retype from the last save point (not as gut-wrenching). It’s up to you.
III. Email me. This one works especially well if you don’t want anyone else to see your comment (or if you just can’t be bothered with I or II). My e-mail address is at the left
<——-over there.
Another tip: you don’t have to sign in or anything (unless and until I get mega-famous for my mad blogging skills and I get weirdos leaving me messages, then I may institute required sign-ins to keep out the riff-raff). For the foreseeable future, you can select “Name” and type your name in. If you select “Anonymous” make sure you sign your post so I know who you are! (unless you really do want to be anonymous).
