Otterbox Easter

We had a great morning/afternoon at church with a special Easter service with the Aaron Coffey Evangelistic team, and then a big church fellowship dinner. I always find it funny when we have ham for Easter dinner, since ham isn’t kosher, and Easter is right after Passover. But today someone doubled down: they brought shrimp with shrimp cocktail! Well I thought it was funny.

But then on the way home, it was hot (!!) so we had the windows and sunroof open at first. After a few blocks, we closed the windows and the sunroof. About a block later we heard a “clunk!” sound (my wife thought we hit something). I glanced in my side mirror and saw something small falling to the road. “MY PHONE!” I yelled. I forgot that I had set it on top of the car (right behind the sunroof) so I could take off my suit coat and put it in the trunk.

I stopped the car and walked/jogged back to where my phone was. I always tell people that I don’t need phone insurance because I have an Otterbox. But this time I wondered. The phone had bounced off the trunk of our car (the clunk sound) and then impacted on the concrete from about four feet up at 50 mph. I had visions of a cracked screen and a non-functioning phone.

But my phone is perfectly fine. The case has a scuff mark on two corners where it hit the concrete, and a part of the clear screen cover had popped off (it snapped right back in). The phone works perfectly.
Otterbox. Best $50 I ever spent.

You can see the lower right corner of the case is scuffed.  Worst case scenario (haha) I have to buy a new Otterbox. But the damage is just cosmetic.
